Rally Marshalls: Dave and Jill Williams assisted by Les and Sue Lawson
7 caravans and 1 motorhome attended this Rally.
The venue was a friendly Tranquil Parks site situated in Bridgetown, Devon with the River Exe on one side and a Mill Stream on the other side.
We all enjoyed fully serviced pitches. The site owners live in the adjacent Mill House which dates circa 1600 and houses a working water mill, and we were treated to a short tour and talk about the Mill history.
A few members arrived early to make the best out of a visit to this National Park region, although the weather was mixed. The many pheasants didn’t seem to mind and regularly reminded us of their presence.
We enjoyed an excellent Sunday Lunch carvery at the local pub Rest and Be Thankful, when Jill welcomed all to the Rally. By coincidence this pub had a long room indoor bowling facility, so the next evening was spent with some friendly bowling rivalry and more pub food. There was lots to do in this beautiful area, so Ralliers were free to pursue their daily preferences and activities. Favourites seemed to be Lynmouth, Tiverton, Dulverton.
Unfortunately, Dave and Jill, had to leave the Rally early for medical reasons. Flag was held in the Rest and Be Thankful pub and Les thanked everyone for coming. Thanks were reciprocated to our Rally Marshalls with special good wishes to Dave and Jill.
